Simran Dhanu is a visual artist based between London and Mumbai. Her practice comprises photographs and abstract photograms that reflect her memories and personal narratives. She brings fragments of her childhood to life by exploring the people, places, and experiences that have shaped her, both gently and painfully. These memories continue to influence her identity, emotions, and understanding of the world. She first explored art as a form of therapy, unknowingly, when she recreated the hues of Indian landscapes to ease the homesickness she felt after moving to London. She later continued to explore these emotions through shapes, elements of nature, and a varied range of colours.
